THE PROBLEM OF FORMING INFORMATION SECURITY SKILLS: A COMPREHENSIVE LITERATURE REVIEW

Abstract

The paper touches upon the problem of forming information security skills. The authors used the comprehensive literature review to encompass diverse approaches to information security education, including integrating information security into existing curricula, developing specialized training programs, and applying innovative pedagogical methods. The authors generalized some aspects of technologies' influences: the impact of information warfare and the need for information hygiene; competency-based approaches to information security education; practical training and hands-on experience of IT usage; gamification and innovative teaching methods; addressing the challenges of cybersecurity education; information security education across different educational levels; the role of critical thinking and information literacy; software tools and resources for information security awareness and training. The paper highlights the urgency of addressing the challenge of forming information security skills across various educational levels and professional contexts. The studies emphasize the need for competency-based approaches, hands-on training, innovative teaching methods, and the development of critical thinking and information literacy skills. Future research should focus on further developing and evaluating practical pedagogical approaches, integrating information security principles across different disciplines, and exploring the use of technology to enhance information security education.
