PROFESSIONAL RESILIENCE OF EDUCATORS – BURNOUT, SUPPORT, AND THE ROLE OF PROFESSIONAL COMMUNITIES

Abstract

In wartime, professional resilience is not an abstract quality but a condition for the survival of educational environments. It encompasses the capacity to sustain teaching and learning under conditions of uncertainty and danger, to maintain professional orientation, to support learners and, at the same time, to avoid destroying one’s own life through excessive self-sacrifice. In the previous parts of this monograph, resilience was considered as a multi-level phenomenon, encompassing individual, group, institutional, and system dimensions. In this part, the focus shifts to the role of the educator and educational leader, because it is through their decisions, emotional state, and professional agency that many strategies for sustaining human potential are actually implemented.
